Meet our Honoree | Robert H. Schottenstein
Robert H. Schottenstein is Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of M/I Homes, Inc., one of the nation’s leading homebuilders.
In 2013, Mr. Schottenstein and M/I Homes played a pivotal role in helping Marburn Academy find its new home. After many years of renting space from the Columbus City Schools, Marburn embarked on a community-wide campaign to raise funds for the project and find an appropriate site to build a new facility. M/I Homes donated leadership support to the campaign and encouraged others to follow suit. After other sites fell through, Mr. Schottenstein and M/I Homes stepped in and suggested the Board consider a parcel in New Albany owned by M/I. Given the size, location, and accessibility of the parcel, the Marburn Board was very interested in the M/I site. Mr. Schottenstein and the people at M/I were great to work with and made the process as easy as possible, offered advice about financing options and afforded Marburn ample time to work out the deal. Throughout the process, Mr. Schottenstein worked with neighbors and city officials alike to welcome Marburn to the New Albany community.
